Making it special!

Growing up my parents especially, my mom made the holidays creative and fun. However, being a Daddy's girl he always made sure to send something special to my mom and I every year. From first grade till I was a senior in college my Dad sent balloons, candy or a stuff animal to school on Valentine's Day. It was very special to me and I have many memories from it. Now that Jacob is old enough to appreciate it, we do more to make the holidays special. Not much, but simple things kids remember. Food is a wonderful way to lighten up the place. Last fall, we made pumpkin spice bread together, at Christmas we made christmas tree cut out peanut butter cookies and recently heart shaped pancakes! A little oatmeal, flax seed, germ wheat they will never know by tasting them! Lol
